Hello, My name is Hiroko. I am a registered acupuncturist both in Québec and Ontario (currently inactive member for Ontario). I live in Gatineau for 13 years.
I am originally from Japan where Chinese Traditional Medicine was a part of our life. It was my grandmother I lived with, introduced this magnific Chinese Traditional Medicine to me.
She used to treat herself with moxa (a form of heat therapy in which burning dried Chinese or Japanese plant on particular points) regularly. Shiatsu (acupressure) was also a part of my life in Japan. I used to give Shiatsu massage to my mother, other family members and my friends since I was child.
Since I was little, my dream was to leave my country (Japan) to discover different cultures. During my twenties, I studied, lived, worked and travelled all over the world.
I arrived in Canada in 2004 alone. I took some programs in Montreal and then I moved to Gatineau for my previous job. Since my daughter was born, I became more health consciousness on my small family’s health, and I decided to go back to school. I took an acupuncture practitioner program at International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ottawa.
Being a mother of an 9 year-old daughter who is suffering from eczemas, I practice “Shonihari” which is an non-needle acupuncture method for children developed in Japan. I went to Japan with my daughter to take its seminars.
Being a woman in early fifties, who had a child at advanced age, who also had a hysterectomy surgery, I am very aware of women’s health; fertility, menopause and birth preparation.
I am also passionate about pain management with “Balance Method” which was developed by Dr. Tan from Taiwan using distal acupuncture points.
I’d love to treat all the families, from little ones to seniors. You will be all a part of my family once you come to my clinic. I would love to grow my Acufamille!
